The National Mourning Day Observed
in City College
Mabrur Atiqi, Dhaka, 11 August: 15th August, the National Mourning Day was observed
with due solemnity in Dhaka City College yesterday. The programme was presided
over by the principal of the college. A large number of students, teachers, and
employees attended the programme wearing black badge to show respect to the
martyrs who were killed brutally on the night of 15th August, 1975.
The
local Member of the Parliament attended the programme as the chief guest.
Speakers in their speech commemorated the great contribution of the father of
the nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, for the emergence of the
independent of Bangladesh as well as his tireless effort to make a golden
Bangladesh.
They
criticized the killers who killed at least 32 persons on that dark night. They
demanded immediate arrest of the villains who are now abroad in absconding
situation. They also prayed for the departed souls. The programme was rounded
off by a Milad and Doa Mahfil seeking peace and salvation of the departed souls.
