Report - Miserable Condition of Roads and Highways in Bangladesh

Miserable Condition of Roads and Highways

Mabrur Atiqi, Dhaka, 30 October: Bangladesh is a small country having an area of 1, 47,570 square kilometers. This is a country having 160 million people. But the condition of roads and highways here is so bad that it is very difficult for the vehicles to ply on them. To speak the truth, the roads and highways of the whole country are in a miserable condition.

It is often seen that the roads are broken in most places. Owing to the bad condition of roads and highways, accidents take place very frequently. A few days ago two famous persons Tarek Masud and Mishuk Munir died in a road accident in Manikganj. A good number of people including men, women, and children are being killed every day.

The school and college going students are also not safe; they are also facing problems while crossing the roads and highways. The government should take effective steps immediately to repair or reconstruct the roads and remove the sufferings of the people.
