Serious Clash Between Two Rival
Groups of Villagers

Atiqi, Mymensingh, 22 February: Two rival groups of Rasulpur village in Mymensingh
locked in a serious clash over a football match that killed one and left thirty
injured. The clashes began when the Young Boys' Club scored their second goal
against the New Star Sporting Club.
The
supporters of the New Star Sporting Club demanded for cancelling the goal as
they told the referee that it was an offside. But the referee denied it and
then it turned into clash between the supporters of the two teams. The
villagers took sides of the supporters and it spread among them.
At
one stage they took out local made arms and attacked others. A teenager was
killed in the spot and more than thirty became injured. Among them thirty
persons were seriously injured and they were sent to Mymensingh Medical College
Hospital.
Meanwhile,
police raided the village and arrested four people allegedly involved in the
clash.
